Dr. Thomas Lindquist

Psychologist

Maybe you’re outwardly doing fine — capable, accomplished, holding it all together — and yet something underneath isn’t sitting right.

People come to me for all kinds of reasons. Whether it’s feeling anxious or stretched thin, low or burned out, wondering whether drinking or another habit has crept past where they’d like it to be, noticing the same patterns repeat at work or with the people closest to them, or working through a hard transition or bigger questions about direction.

Over time, people I work with tend to:

  • Feel less anxious, and less ruled by the worry or overthinking that wears them down
  • Have more energy and focus for the things that matter to them
  • Feel more steady and capable of handling what life puts in front of them
  • Understand themselves more clearly, so the changes they make actually hold

My goal for you is that you come to know yourself more fully, to understand what lies beneath these patterns. My ultimate wish is for you to leave therapy with a new sense of possibility and freedom to pursue a meaningful and satisfying life.

I work entirely online, so the right therapist isn’t limited to who happens to practice near you. Wherever you are in North Carolina, Washington, DC, or another state where I can see clients, we can do focused, in-depth work together over video from a place where you feel comfortable, without carving out a commute from an already full schedule.

My approach is psychodynamic, so rather than only easing symptoms, we work to understand the patterns beneath them — where they come from, and how they still shape the present, so the changes you make tend to hold. I am calm yet attentive as I get to know patients and build a relationship where you feel safe and supported, and I’ll adjust my approach to fit you.

I strive to help people connect with a deeper sense of self-worth while working on accepting and growing beyond any limitations or setbacks.
